Logs console and workload locking

Orion Admin adds a logs console for every Orion service and workspace. Workloads can be locked against shutdown and upgraded in place to their latest template, and admins can now migrate or evict Deployments and StatefulSets as well as VMs.

  • New logs console in Orion Admin: read, download or copy the logs for Genesis, Terra, Titan and the Metrics Gatherer, plus each workspace's Hubble and Kuiper logs

  • Lock a workload with a reason so it can't be shut down, deleted or hibernated by the idle timer until it's unlocked

  • New upgrade action brings a running workload up to the latest version of its template without deleting and relaunching it

  • Migrate now works on Deployments and StatefulSets as well as VMs, with new Evict and Clear Affinity actions for admins

  • Upgraded template creation and app store install forms, with one card per plugin even when several sources carry it

  • Workspace resource quotas (CPU, memory, NodePort and LoadBalancer limits) through the workspace API

Path based routing and template migration

Path based routing lets workspaces share one host with Orion Admin, removing per-workspace DNS and certificates. Workload templates can now migrate onto updated schemas, and admins manage the metrics service directly from settings.

  • Path based routing lets a workspace share the same host as Orion Admin, so you skip a custom DNS record and certificate per workspace

  • Workload templates can migrate onto an updated schema instead of being blocked as deprecated when new fields are added

  • Admins can restart the metrics service and override its version from admin settings

  • Restart Orion Workspace services from each workspace's manage page

  • Ctrl+Click now opens a multi-endpoint workload in a new tab

Node health alerts and a Mounts tab

Orion Admin adds a licensing dashboard for your remaining CPU core hours and surfaces node health status with alerts for unhealthy nodes. Orion Workspace gains a per-workload Mounts tab and smarter workload ordering.

  • New licensing dashboard in Orion Admin shows your remaining CPU core hours

  • Network table now reports node health status (Healthy, Unhealthy, Misconfigured) with alerts for unhealthy and misconfigured nodes

  • New Mounts tab in each workload's details panel shows the mounted volumes and data volumes

  • Workload widget now orders by the workload you connected to most recently

  • Duplicate workload names get an index appended on launch to avoid collisions

Orion 4.5.0

Workload groups and a unified actions menu

Orion Workspace adds custom workload groups and a single actions menu with batch restart and direct links. Orion Admin ships faster page loads and an ingress class setting for switching between installed ingress controllers.

  • Group workloads under custom names that sort, filter, and persist between sessions

  • A single Actions menu per workload covers hibernate, create template, delete, direct link, and batch restart across resources

  • Front end optimizations deliver substantially faster page load times in Orion Admin

  • New ingress class field in admin settings and workspace creation for switching between installed ingress controllers

  • Crossplane EC2 workloads now report core count and threads per core
